Our 25 bed Critical Access Hospital is flanked by two medical clinics and a long term care center. There are 16 full-time physicians on the medical staff and the hospital and nursing home employ more than 200 individuals.

The Emergency Department is staffed by physicians 24 hours-a-day, with additional personnel at designated times. Highly skilled physicians and medical professionals from larger hospitals across the nation are attracted to this popular recreational area by the quality of life they find here.

Design elements were meant to aid in the restoration of health. Spacious private rooms support patient privacy, and soft colors,large windows with nature views and local art work help bring peace of mind. A family kitchen, sleeping accommodations in each patient room, and attractive waiting areas all encourage family involvement. An active volunteer organization assists staff in meeting the individual needs of patients and their families.

The Governing Board and Foundation of Hayward Area Memorial understand that skilled medical personnel, specialty services, advanced medical equipment, prevention programs, long term care and assisted living continue to be important priorities for the community.
