Job Title:  Director, Quality Improvement / Risk Management

Department:  Quality Improvement                                                                               

Status:  Full Time (.9 FTE) 36 hours a week

Description:  Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing Quality Improvement programs to meet the needs of the facility and to enhance the quality of patient/resident care and patient/resident safety.  In coordination with department managers and staff, facilitates performance improvement and QI activities throughout the facilities.  Coordinates provider peer review and focused professional practice evaluation.  Assists with ongoing professional practice evaluation data collection.  Ensures proper communication and reporting to the Administrative Team, Medical Staff and Board of Directors on activities.  Provides education to Medical Staff, Hospital and Care Center Staff and Governing Body.  Oversight responsibility for regulatory body surveys, i.e., State Licensing Review, CMS Validation surveys.

Acts as the organization’s Risk Manager. Integrates these functions and related processes with quality management and improvement activities.  Works with insurers, staff and affected parties to prevent and resolve risk issues.  Coordinates patient satisfaction surveys and the ensuing data evaluation.  Oversees and ensures accurate and timely data collection and submission to various external agencies.  Assists in promoting and coordinating  interdisciplinary care and services, high quality safe patient care and efficient and effective utilization of organizational resources, including as applicable PDSA, Studer Principles, LEAN and Six Sigma.

Requirements:  Current Wisconsin state licensed Registered Nurse, Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree or Degree in Health Services Administration preferred. NAHQ Certification required or able to obtain within 2 years of hire date. three (3) or more years of previous clinical experience in an acute care setting. Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality Management preferred, five (5) or more years of previous experience in risk management, legal or insurance related field preferred.

  • May be expected to administer conscious sedation in the endoscopy unit

DESCRIPTION:    Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Medical Directorand Clinical Lead, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory therapy services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies and procedures.
